Devin Jarmon cultivates the taste of the Lowcountry as a freelance chef (admire some of her beautiful and unique dishes on instagram @_yes.chef_) and owner of Jarmon’s Co. She worked her way up as many young aspiring chefs do, starting out in pizza and working her way through the stations, studying and experimenting on her time off, and never stopping pushing.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I currently reside in the Summerville/Ladson area where we raise our two young boys, Bodie (3) and Waylon (8 mo).
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I think Covid hit us all hard. I felt really lost that March 2020, but I pulled it together. I made a plan with my husband and we built Jarmon’s Co. Right now, we have three hot sauces: Holy City Heat (the milder of the 3), Holy City Golden Fuego (habanero based), and Holy City Hell (featuring Carolina reapers). We source our peppers at local markets here in Charleston.
Our process is unique and requires real detail. I ferment and produce every ingredient myself if possible. This is truly a Charleston sauce. I’ve made it a point to work with the food and beverage community here, and a few places are carrying our products: New York Butcher Shoppe- Daniel Island, Johnny Focaccia Truck, Black Pearl Oyster, The Southern General. We hope to continue cultivating those relationships and add more locations in the future, so keep an eye out for that! We are also proud to ship nationwide from jarmonsco.com.
