Amber Sparks

Amber Sparks made the daring move to Mount Pleasant having not visited in over 28 years. She bought a house she’d never seen and relocated her life with neither a job nor a friend in all of South Carolina. Our community welcomed her with open arms, and she has had an amazing experience learning to call Mount Pleasant home.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My daughters are 24 & 26. One lives in IA and the other lives in IL. My puppy Magnolia is the best! She’s a mini bernadoodle, and she’s so snuggly.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I taught high school AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, and AP Physics. I loved the kids but was looking for a different dynamic, so I jumped out to teach college mathematics instead. I did that for 21 years, but that got boring, so I enrolled in paralegal studies and earned my certification. I learn something new every single day!
